Pasco County Sheriff’s Office: Phone, Inmate Search, Warrants & Records
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office handles law enforcement, investigations, warrants, public records, civil process, property and evidence, victim assistance and community safety services across Pasco County. One important change from many older guides is that the county jail is now operated through Pasco County Corrections, so inmate services should be handled through the county corrections system rather than treating every jail question as a Sheriff’s administrative matter.
If you are trying to report a crime, find someone in custody, check a warrant, obtain an incident report, look up a criminal court case or reach the correct Sheriff district office, the quickest route depends on exactly what you need.
Use the Office That Actually Controls the Information
Pasco Sheriff, Pasco County Corrections, the Clerk of Court and county Emergency Communications maintain different records. Calling the wrong office is one of the easiest ways to lose time.

- Use 911 for an emergency.
- Use 727-847-8102, option 7 for non-emergency law-enforcement response.

- Choose the closest office for your task.
- Check whether the office handles walk-in public services.
- Call before travelling for a specialized service.
- Use dispatch instead when you actually need a deputy to respond.
When to Use Pasco Sheriff’s Online Reporting
The Citizen Online Reporting system is for qualifying non-emergency incidents. It should not be used when someone is in danger, when a crime is happening now or when immediate deputy response is needed.
- Read the eligibility rules before starting.
- Choose the correct incident type.
- Enter the location and timeline accurately.
- Add property, vehicle and subject information when appropriate.
- Preserve video instead of uploading it.
- Keep the report confirmation and case information.
If you later identify the suspect or obtain new information, the Sheriff’s current online-report guidance says to call Pasco County Public Safety Communications at 727-847-8102 and ask to add information to the existing report. Have the case number available.
Pasco County Inmate Search Is Now a Corrections Service
The jail lookup is operated through Pasco County Corrections. Use the official In-Custody Search rather than assuming the Sheriff’s general phone line maintains the current jail roster.
- Search the surname.
- Add the first name when necessary.
- Compare identifying information carefully.
- Open the correct booking.
- Save the inmate ID, booking date, charges and bond information.
- Use Pasco Clerk’s court search for later case disposition.
Pasco County Detention Center
Use the county corrections system for current custody, inmate services and jail-specific procedures. Use the Sheriff for law-enforcement reports, warrants, civil process and Sheriff’s Office services.
Do Not Send Ordinary Personal Mail Directly to Pasco County Jail
Pasco County Corrections’ current inmate-mail instructions say personal mail is processed through a Securus Digital Mail Center. The original mail is digitally scanned for viewing on inmate tablets or kiosks.

Tampa, FL 33622-1507
Pasco County Jail

The official mail instructions say physical personal mail is destroyed 60 days after upload. Packages and certified mail sent through the personal-mail process are returned to the sender.
Items that go directly to the jail
- Legal mail.
- Approved publications sent directly by a publisher, distributor or authorized retailer.
- Government checks, including IRS checks or checks from another correctional facility.
- Prescription glasses.
- Contact lenses and contact-lens solution.
- Hearing-aid batteries.
The county mail instructions specifically state that personal checks and money orders are not accepted through this direct-mail exception.
Use Pasco Clerk Court Records After Finding a Booking
The Pasco County Clerk & Comptroller provides an Online Court Records Search for public court cases. Felony, misdemeanor and criminal-traffic files are generally available for public viewing unless sealed, expunged or confidential by law.
- Search the exact case number when one is available.
- Otherwise search the defendant’s legal name carefully.
- Confirm the correct case and filing date.
- Review publicly available docket and document information.
- Contact Court Records when a needed public file is not available online.

Pasco Sheriff Publishes an Active-Warrants Search
The Sheriff’s active-warrant system identifies people wanted on outstanding Pasco County warrants. The page warns members of the public not to take action themselves.
- Search the legal name carefully.
- Compare identity information before assuming a match.
- Do not approach the person.
- Use the Sheriff’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488 to report location information.
- Use FDLE’s statewide wanted-person search when the warrant may be outside Pasco County.
The Fugitive Warrants Unit’s current page says it does not provide warrant information by telephone. The Sheriff’s warrant page also directs people with their own Pasco warrant to the Central Jail at 20101 Central Boulevard in Land O’ Lakes.
Pasco Sheriff Public Records Now Use JustFOIA
Pasco Sheriff’s Office changed its public-record request platform on September 7, 2026. New requests are now processed through JustFOIA rather than the older GovQA portal.
The Sheriff says people may create an account or remain anonymous when using the current public-record portal. Requests may also be made through other permitted contact methods.
- Use the current JustFOIA link for a new request.
- Choose whether to create an account or submit through the available anonymous route.
- Provide the case number when known.
- Add the date, time, location and exact record requested.
- Upload any required statutory form for protected material such as qualifying body-camera footage.
- Use the old GovQA system only when tracking a request submitted there before the transition.
Body-worn camera requests can require extra documentation
The Sheriff’s records page explains that body-camera footage recorded in certain protected locations can be confidential or exempt under Florida law. A qualifying requester may need to submit the Sheriff’s BWC waiver form before the agency can process footage with fewer statutory redactions.
Active investigations may be only partly available
If a case is still an active or pending investigation, the Sheriff’s Office may provide only the portions that are legally releasable until the investigation is complete.
911 Calls and Radio Transmissions Are Not Maintained by Pasco Sheriff Records
This is an important Pasco-specific records distinction. The Sheriff’s current Public Records page states that 911 call records and radio transmissions are maintained by Pasco County Emergency Communications, not the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Public Records Unit.
When requesting a CAD call or radio transmission, prepare:
- Date of incident.
- Approximate time.
- Location.
- Telephone number involved when relevant.
- Type of incident.
A Pasco Sheriff Arrest History Is Not a Statewide Background Check
The Sheriff’s Public Records page describes its local arrest-history request as limited to Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrests.
The request asks for identity details such as name and date of birth. Do not assume a local Sheriff’s arrest-history search covers every municipal police arrest, every Florida county or every criminal court disposition.

Pasco Sheriff Does Not Serve Every Type of Private Civil Paper
The Pasco Sheriff Civil Process Unit handles the Sheriff’s statutory responsibility for enforceable civil process. It also manages levies and levy sales used to enforce qualifying money judgments.
A particularly important local distinction is that the current Sheriff page says PSO does not serve ordinary private civil subpoenas, civil summonses or other private court process. Private service is generally handled through approved process servers when the document is not one the Sheriff is statutorily required to serve.
Examples the Sheriff says it serves
- State witness subpoenas issued by the State Attorney or Public Defender.
- Qualifying government-entity writs of garnishment.
- Writs of replevin.
- Writs of possession.
- Levies and judgments.
- Domestic-violence and repeat-violence injunction process.

- Identify the exact court process.
- Confirm whether the Sheriff or a private process server must handle it.
- Prepare the original or certified copy and service copies required.
- Provide the best service address available.
- Include return envelopes when required.
- Confirm the current nonrefundable fee before mailing payment.
Do Not Go to the Jail for Sheriff Property Evidence
Property taken or stored as part of a Pasco Sheriff’s Office law-enforcement case is handled separately from inmate property held by Pasco County Corrections.
The Sheriff’s current contact page lists the Property & Evidence contact number as 813-235-6120.
Pasco Felon and Sex Offender Registration Location
The Sheriff’s current contact page says the registration office closes for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is closed on federal holidays.
Florida identification, Florida driver’s license or Florida Department of Corrections identification is required under the current Sheriff’s instructions.
Pasco Sheriff Victim Advocates Help Beyond the Initial Police Report
The Sheriff’s Victim Advocate Unit assists people with crisis intervention, emotional support, court assistance, safety planning, referrals, transportation and navigating the justice system.
Pasco Sheriff’s current victim materials describe advocates as available throughout the investigative and criminal-justice process, including assistance with community resources such as counseling, legal aid, emergency food, shelter and safe housing.
VINE custody notifications
The Sheriff’s victim-rights materials identify VINE as an automated custody-notification resource that can help victims follow an offender’s custody status.
How to File a Complaint or Commendation About a Pasco Sheriff Member
Pasco Sheriff’s Office accepts complaints and commendations regarding agency members through its Professional Standards process.
The online form asks for incident date, location, report or event number when known, the employee’s name when known and a description of what occurred.
- Select complaint or commendation.
- Enter the incident date and location.
- Add the report/event number when available.
- Identify the Sheriff’s Office member when known.
- Describe the events factually and chronologically.
- Remember that submitted information may be subject to Florida public-record law.
If your real need is to report a crime committed by someone who is not a Sheriff’s employee, use 911, non-emergency dispatch or online reporting instead.
Pasco Sheriff Says It Will Not Demand Payment to Resolve a Warrant or Jury-Duty Problem
Pasco Sheriff’s Office warned again in 2026 about scammers impersonating agency members and claiming the victim missed jury duty or has a criminal issue that can be solved by immediate electronic payment.
Scammers may spoof real Sheriff telephone numbers and use the name of an actual PSO employee.
Verify independently through 727-847-8102, option 7 or submit suspicious information to the Sheriff’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488.
Pasco County Details That Prevent the Most Common Mistakes
- Use the new non-emergency number. Current Sheriff guidance is 727-847-8102, option 7—not the older 727-847-5878 dispatch reference.
- Separate Sheriff and Corrections questions. PSO handles law enforcement; Pasco County Corrections handles jail custody and inmate services.
- Use JustFOIA for new Sheriff record requests. The transition occurred September 7, 2026.
- Request 911 audio from County Emergency Communications. The Sheriff does not maintain those records.
- Use the inmate ID on personal mail. Pasco personal mail now goes through a Securus digital-mail address in Tampa.
- Do not send ordinary inmate personal mail directly to the jail. Legal mail and certain approved items are treated differently.
- Check the court record after an arrest. Booking information is not the final case outcome.
- Do not call the Fugitive Warrants Unit expecting telephone warrant confirmation. Use the official warrant search or FDLE route.
- Do not mail ordinary private civil summonses to the Sheriff without checking eligibility. PSO’s Civil Process Unit does not serve every type of private process.
- Do not pay a warrant caller. Pasco Sheriff specifically warns about spoofed-number and jury-duty payment scams.
